Alan Rogers Review of Camping Val de Blois
Camping Val de Blois is located on the banks of the River Loire, five kilometres northeast of Blois. There are 120 generous pitches, some shaded and all with access to electricity. The site is well laid out with pitches varying from 60-100 sq. m. Five new chalet bungalows are available for hire. There are no leisure facilities actually on site but campers have access to an adjacent swimming pool complex, bar and snack bar, play area and tennis. There is also direct access to the River Loire.
Blois is the capital of the Loir et Cher department in central France, situated on the banks of the lower River Loire between Orléans and Tours. It is an ideal spot for exploring the Loire and visiting the numerous Châteaux along its banks. Blois has a long history dating back to the 6th century. Its Château was built in 1171 and occupied by King Louis XII; do not miss the House of Magic next door to the Château. This fairytale place combines interactive displays and live shows by magicians.
Facilities at Camping Val de Blois
Two toilet blocks are showing their age and in need of refurbishment. A third has recently been updated. Motorhome services. Small tourist information desk. Direct access to the River Loire and cycle paths. No barbecues in August.
