Alan Rogers Review
Family run Camping Südeifel is on the western border of Germany, close to Luxembourg. Of the 160 pitches, 60 are for touring, on level, neatly trimmed grass, either on the central field or alongside the small River Prüm. All have access to electricity (6A Europlug), the riverside pitches having a little shade. The River Prüm is lively and shallow, so ideal for supervised play under the shade of the trees. The campsite’s Prümtaler Tavern serves snacks and drinks, and has a verandah looking out over this simple campsite in the pleasant green Eifel countryside. There is no shop, but a takeaway pizza service is offered.
The Eifel region of Germany offers a range of landscapes with mountainous areas and forested valleys. The historic town of Echternach - the oldest town in Luxembourg - is easily reached by car. Just a little further away to the south lies the city of Trier on the banks of the Mosel river; it is believed to be one of the oldest cities in Germany with records dating back to 16BC. The campsite owners offer an extensive list of local activities including walks, talks and tastings.
Modern, heated sanitary block has hot showers and open washbasins. Facilities for children and disabled visitors. Laundry facilities. Café and bar. Takeaway pizzas. Play area. WiFi over site (charged). Fishing (permits from reception). Mini zoo adjacent.
Camping Südeifel is just south of Irrel. From the north exit the E29 motorway onto K20 towards Irrel. Follow one-way route that bypasses the centre of Irrel and follow the signs to the site.Link to campsite location map on google
