Silvaplana is situated at the junction of the road from Italy over the Malojapass, the road from northern Switzerland via the Julierpass, and the road that continues through Saint Moritz to Austria. Camping Silvaplana, therefore, might be useful for a night stop if travelling this way. The site is mainly level and the 180 pitches for touring units are numbered and marked by posts or tapes, with 120 electrical connections (16A).

Although the surrounding scenery across the lake is very pleasant, there is nothing remarkable about the site, except that most afternoons a wind blows along the lake, which is used by windsurfing enthusiasts.

However, it is probably the best campsite in the area, with good walking and climbing opportunities. A fenced river runs through it, but the lake shore is unprotected (giving boats access to the water).

The heated toilet block has hot showers and a baby room. Washing machines. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Shop for basics (seasonal). Bar. TV room. Small play area. WiFi (free).

Directions to Camping Silvaplana

If coming from the Julier Pass continue through Silvaplana to junction with road to St Moritz, turn right and look for site signs on the right. From St Moritz, continue along lakeside passing the village. Site signs are on the right.
