Barberino lies in the heart of Tuscany between Florence and Siena. It is an area rich in history and known for that special Italian wine, Chianti. Camping Semifonte is a small, uncomplicated site with fine views over the surrounding, vine-clad hills, but with limited facilities. The 60 shaded pitches, all with 4/6A electricity, are on steep terraces. Some are small and tight for manoeuvring. Each terrace has a tap for water. There is a very small shop selling basics. This site is difficult for those with reduced mobility. The site facilities are all at the bottom of the site.

Daniella and Elisa (mother and daughter) run a peaceful site which is very popular with Dutch visitors. Semifonte will suit those who are not looking for entertainment and who like reasonable prices. The site provides the opportunity to visit the popular cities of Tuscany and a decent bus service helps with this. A good restaurant is 500 m. from the site with another in the small village a short walk away.

Facilities at Camping Semifonte

Two small sanitary blocks have a mixture of British and squat toilets, showers and washbasins. Accessible facilities, Motorhome services. Shop selling basics, plus local oil and wines. Swimming pools. Supported paddling pool for children with no safety fence – next to small play area. WiFi (charged).

Directions to Camping Semifonte

From Florence-Siena autostrada take Tavarnelle exit to Barberino Val Elsa. Take first left on entering village and site is well signed, 500 m. at end of cul-de-sac. Park outside to check in.
