Alan Rogers Review
This is an attractive, peaceful and rural site ten minutes from the beaches and 10 km. from Carnac. There are 60 touring pitches out of a total of 90 which are set among pine trees and wiry hedges giving some shade. Long leads are required for the 10A electricity. There is a more casual camping area being developed further away amongst some trees. A new covered, heated swimming and paddling pool has sun loungers. The welcoming bar and patio area also has a communal barbecue. Basic provisions are available from reception where good English is spoken. This pleasant, wooded site is now part of a group of seven sites called Camp’in Ouest.
Some activities are organised throughout July and August and an Olympic tournament was in full swing on our visit. With so many campsites to choose from along the coast, this is a good inland option for those seeking a bit of peace and quiet, but still within easy reach of all the attractions in this area.
One bright modern heated sanitary block provides adequate facilities with excellent en suite facilities for disabled visitors and is centrally located. Shop (1/6-30/9). Small bar (1/5-25/10). Restaurant (1/6-30/9). Takeaway (1/6-25/10). Covered, heated swimming pool and paddling pool (1/5-30/9). Volleyball. Basketball. Small play area. Bicycle hire. WiFi (free).
LocationFrom the N165 Vannes-Lorient dual carriageway, take the exit signed D768 Ploemel/Carnac. After 4 km. turn right heading northwest towards Ploemel. Once in the village centre follow signs to St Laurent Camping. Link to campsite location map on google
