Spain, Castilla Y Leon, Segovia, Riaza
Alan Rogers Review
This site is situated in the province of Segovia, a hundred or so kilometres north of Madrid, making it a convenient stop en route north or south. Of the 350 spacious grass pitches, 213 are for touring, whilst the rest are for fixed Spanish bungalows. All pitches have 10/15A electricity, water and drainage, but some have limited shade. The buildings on the site are sympathetically built of local stone and house a large clubroom, bar and restaurant. There are comprehensive sports facilities and a good swimming pool complex with bar. The little town of Riaza is typically Castilian and has a few monuments and some attractive restaurants.
Hoses are needed for water and drainage and generally tents and small units may find the site less convenient than larger units. Access from the adjacent N roads and autovia is easy and movement around the large site is also very straightforward. Double axle vehicles and large motorhomes and caravans are welcome. The site has a view of surrounding, often snow-capped, mountains and a rural feel with the sound of cow bells and the flora and fauna of oak woods – marred a little by the noise of the N10 which runs close by.
Two excellent, centrally located toilet blocks with underfloor heating. Facilities for babies and visitors with disabilities. Laundry. Shop (restricted opening in low season). Bar, restaurant and clubroom (all year). Large modern play area. Sports area. Tennis. Archery. Club for children (summer only). Direct access to municipal pool complex (1/6-31/8). WiFi throughout (free in bar area, charged elsewhere).
From the A1 (Burgos-Madrid) take exit 104 and the N110 towards Soria. Leave the N110 signed Riaza and follow camping signs. At roundabout follow signs for ‘Estacion’ and site.Link to campsite location map on google
