Camping Paradijs is a small, quiet, family-run site in a natural setting beside the River Vltava. It has several stone-ringed fireplaces for campfires (wood available at reception), a fairly large building with tables and benches, and an open fireplace, which is useful in bad weather. It's a secluded spot on a bend in the river and promises a relaxed stay amidst some stunning scenery.

The campsite is well run and has grassy pitches, mostly open and sunny, with low, wooded hillsides all around. There are 60 pitches on grass (20 for touring) near or bordering the tree-lined river, with a separate area of 12 pitches with electricity (6A). The reception and sanitary facilities are housed together in one building raised above the site level. This is essentially a site for those who enjoy getting out into nature and exploring the lush, verdant countryside.

Since this is a region somewhat off the beaten tourist track, it is well worth taking the time to research what is offer before arriving. There is an abundance of small villages, each with its array of loud speakers, a hangover from former times but still in use, informing the population what is happening in the village and local area.

Facilities

The very limited number (2 each) of toilets and showers, with changing/shower compartments separated by a sliding door, are well maintained and very clean. Reception stocks essential items, drinks and tourist information. Bar. Play area. Fishing. Bicycle hire. Free WiFi.

Location

Site is 5 km. north of Cesky Krumlov on road 39 between Cesky Krumlov and Ceské Budejovice. Site is signposted at the bottom of a hill. Follow ‘camping by the river’ signs for 900 m. Follow site directions rather than GPS when nearing site.
