This small, welcoming, family run site is located at the edge of the cultural town of Chagny, and next to the Voie Vert which runs along the Canal de Centre. Of the 101 pitches, ten are used for high quality chalets and 91 for touring units. All are on grass (some with all-weather bases), separated by hedges and tall trees. Electricity (16A) is available to all, although some pitches may need longer leads. This is a relaxing base from which to explore the interesting town and the surrounding area either on foot or bicycle. The bar/restaurant is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day.

It is a popular area with cyclists and walkers because of the Voie Verte, a 117 km. linear route, and for its proximity to the canal. Chagny has an interesting ‘discovery walk’, shops, bars, restaurants (including a 3-star Michelin), banks, supermarket and a large Sunday market. The friendly owners are happy to spend time with visitors advising on routes and sightseeing, or just to pass the time of day. This site is well used by Dutch and English visitors, some passing through, but many staying for several days. Good English is spoken.

One main, heated, modern sanitary block with a purpose built accessible unit. Baby room. Laundry with washing machine and dryer. A second smaller block is behind reception. Bread to order. Bar/restaurant and takeaway (May-Aug, closed Tues). Small play area. WiFi over site (free). Ten well-appointed chalets for rent, including one adapted for those with reduced mobility. WiFi throughout (free).

Directions to Camping Paquier Fané

From A6 autoroute take exit 24.1 (D974 Beaune Centre) towards Chalon-sur-Sâone. Then take D62 towards Chagny. Follow signs for ‘Complex Sportif/Camping’.
