Alan Rogers Review of Camping Papillon
Papillon is a small site located on the banks of the River Elbe, to the northeast of Prague. There are just 25 pitches here and these are grassy and of a good size. All pitches have electricity connections. Bed and breakfast accommodation is also available in the site’s main building. There is no shop on site but there is a well-stocked shop 300 m. from the site. A good restaurant can be found around 1 km. away. The shallow River Elbe is a popular attraction for children. Other leisure amenities include pool and table tennis in the games room. There is an honesty system for purchasing drinks from the 'bar' - a refrigerator in the courtyard.
This is excellent walking and mountain biking country and the site’s friendly owners will be happy to recommend routes. Prague can be reached in less than two hours. The city of Trutnov lies to the east and is located on a 12th-century Slavic settlement. The city has an attractive centre and is possibly best known as the site for the battle of Trautenau in 1866 during the Austro-Prussian war.

Directions to Camping Papillon
Site is close to Dolni Lanov, northeast of Prague. From Nova Paka, head west on road 16. After 6 km. take road 293 and later 295 (north) to Vrchlabi. From there road 14 (direction Trutnov) and after small airport go south to Dolni Lanov, where site is signed.
