In the volcanic ‘Vulkaneifel’ region of Germany, in a wooded valley with a waterfall and stream flowing through it, Campingplatz Oosbachtal is a haven of tranquillity for those who love nature. Its 41 touring pitches, all with electric hook-ups, 15 of which are fully serviced, can be used for tents, motorhomes or caravans. There are also five caravans for rent. Children will love to swim in the crystal clear water, (parental supervision required). With its idyllic setting of grassy pitches backing onto a stream, set amongst mature trees, the site is an ideal base for those who like walking or cycling holidays. The owners, who live on site offer home-cooked food in the restaurant. Bring your own dish and they will provide takeaway meals, which need to be ordered in advance. The bar and communal barbecue area are popular meeting points for campers, many of whom return year after year. |
The site does not have a shop, but a mobile greengrocer comes with his van once a week on Saturdays. There is a butcher in the village (200 metres) who also stocks basic foodstuffs. The restaurant has been adapted to welcome visitors with limited mobility, as has the sanitary block. Please note, there is very limited WiFi throughout the site. There is a children’s play area. The family organises events throughout the year, including for the Oktoberfest and Christmas. The site is open all year.

Five caravans to rent. Seven flats to rent. Restaurant, bar and barbecue area on site. Takeaway meals. Sanitary block with children’s facilities. Showers, WC and dishwashing facilities. Accessible facilities, Mobile greengrocer van once a week (Saturdays), bread to order daily at the bar. Children’s play area and television room on site. Pets allowed.

A16 from Calais for 249 miles then follow E40, E42 to the B410 in Rommersheim, Germany. Continue on B410 then L10 to Gerolstein and the campsite.
