In the Bay of Roses, south of Empuriabrava and beside the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, this is a high quality site of particular interest to nature lovers (especially birdwatchers) and families. A large site, there are 1,110 well kept, large, numbered pitches, all with electricity and on flat, sandy ground. Beautifully laid out, it is arranged around the river and waterways, so will suit those who like to be close to water or who enjoy watersports and boating. It is also a superb beachside site, and there is also accommodation for rental.

There are some pitches right on the beach and on the banks of the canal. As you drive through the nature park to the site, enjoy the wild flamingos alongside the road. The name no doubt derives from the fact that boats can be tied up at the small marina within the site and a slipway also gives access to a river and thence to the sea. Throughout the season there is a varied entertainment programme for children and adults, and the facilities are impressive. Tour operators use the site.

Sanitary blocks of a very high standard include some en-suite showers with washbasins. Good accessible facilities. Washing machines. Gas supplies.  Dishwashing by EasyBe, Excellent supermarket. Restaurants, pizzeria and bar. Two separate bars and snack bar by beach where discos are held in main season. Sailing, diving and windsurfing schools. 300 sq.m. swimming pool. Tennis courts. Badminton. Paddle tennis. Minigolf. Games room. Children’s play park and miniclub. Fishing (licence required). Car, motorcycle and bicycle hire. Hairdresser. Internet access and WiFi over site (charged). ATM. Torches are useful near beach.

Directions to Camping Nautic Almata

Site is signed at 26 km. marker on C252 between Castelló d’Empúries and Vildemat, then 7 km. to site. Alternatively, on San Pescador-Castelló d’Empúries road (GIV6216) head north and site is well signed.
