Camping Morteratsch is a well-equipped mountain site in stunning scenery near St. Moritz. Close to Pontresina, it lies next to the road leading to the Bernina Pass and Tirano in Italy and nestles in the valley floor between fir-clad mountains. There are about 250 pitches for touring units and tents in summer, about half with electricity. Some are in small clearings amongst tall trees and some in a larger open space. They are neither numbered nor marked, and their size is dictated by the natural space between the trees.
Being in a mountain valley, the grass is thin over a stony base with tarmac roads running through. Four small streams run through this long, narrow site with lovely views on each side. A modern reception building houses a comprehensively stocked shop, bistro, TV lounge with kitchen, enormous drying room, and WiFi point.
Next to reception is a new, state-of-the-art sanitary building and a new sauna. This is a quiet site in a peaceful location and could make a useful night stop when traveling through or a base for exploring the region which is good walking country. A cycle route runs through the site.
Facilities at Camping Morteratsch
Three fully equipped toilet blocks can be heated. Family bathroom suites are available. Four-person sauna. Accessible facilities. Washing machines, dryers, and ski kit drying room. Dog wash. Uniquely, there is a facility for refilling most types of propane cylinders. Well stocked shop. Simple bistro within the shop. Grill and snack bar in a teepee (June-Aug plus winter schedule). Guest room with TV, tables, and chairs, and self-service kitchen. Communal fondue room. Internet, telephone, and free WiFi. Bicycle hire. Fishing. Playground. Torch and long leads useful.

Site is on B29, the road to Tirano and Bernina Pass, 4 km. southeast of Pontresina and is well signed.
