This large lakeside site (23 hectares) has 500 pitches (200 for touring units), 11 of them on hardstanding, and is beautifully located on the beaches of the Zuidlaardermeer. The touring pitches are arranged on several separate fields away from the mobile homes and seasonal guests, either in circular bays or in long rows from paved access lanes. All touring pitches have electricity (6A), water, waste water and cable TV connections. This site is ideal for youngsters as there is direct access to the sandy beaches in addition to an indoor heated swimming pool with a paddling pool. In high season, an entertainment team provides games and excursions for youngsters and adults.

Camping Meerwijck is a useful base from which to explore the surroundings of the province of Groningen and the bustling Hanseatic city itself is only 15 km. away and easily accessible by bicycle. A ferry runs from the site to the nearby wildlife park. The site has its own marina for 215 small sailing boats and motor boats and there is a slipway. Meerwijck is in a small nature reserve, which offers good opportunities for walking and cycling. Villages such as Hoogezand and Zuidlaren are nearby, with good shops and local markets.

Directions to Camping Meerwijck

On A7 to and from Groningen, join N7 (E22) towards Oldenburg then take exit 40 for Foxhol and continue south towards Kropswolde. Cross the canal and the railway and turn right at next roundabout, following signs to site.
