Eight hundred metres from the charming village of Léon, this site offers 177 above average size, level, grass touring pitches (some sandy). Ninety have electricity (10A), water and drainage and they are separated by hedges. Shade on most pitches is provided by the tall oak trees. The toilets, showers, basins and laundry are housed in one central block adjacent to the heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa and gym room. All are in good order with accessible facilities, babies and children. The outdoor swimming pool and paddling pool are surrounded by plenty of sunbeds.

Village Punta Largo has a good bar and restaurant and provides comprehensive entertainment for children in July and August. The lake is a short stroll away and offers many watersports, fishing, larger restaurants and small bars. This is an ideal site for couples and families with small children. The Basque towns of Biarritz and Bidart are about one hour’s drive with the Spanish border and Pyrenees just a little further. The Landes forest has an extensive network of level cycle tracks through the mature pine trees.

Directions to Camping Lou Puntaou

From N10 take exit 12 towards Castets. Take D142 to Léon and at island take first exit to ‘Centre Ville’. At T-junction turn left on D652 and after 300 m. turn left at sign for site and lake. After 800 m. site is on the left.
