Alan Rogers Review of Camping Los Manzanos
Los Manzanos has a steep access drive down to the site, which is divided by a stream into two sections linked by a bridge. Pitches for larger units are marked and numbered, 85 with electricity (12A) and, in one section, there is a fairly large, unmarked field for tents.
Some aircraft noise should be expected as the site is under the flight path to A Coruña (but no aircraft at night). The site impressed us as it was very clean, even when full, which it tends to be in high season. Some interesting huge stone sculptures create focal points and conversation pieces.
This site is to the east of the historic port of A Coruña, not far from some ria (lagoon) beaches and with good communications to both central and north Galicia – it is only an hours drive from Santiago de la Compostela, for example.
Facilities at Camping Los Manzanos
One good toilet block provides modern facilities including free hot showers. Accessible facilities, Small shop with fresh produce daily (limited outside June-Sept). High-quality restaurant/bar (July/Aug). Swimming pool with lifeguard, free to campers (seasonal). Playground. Barbecue area. Bungalows to rent. WiFi in the reception area.
Directions to Camping Los Manzanos
From the A8/A6 (A Coruña). Take exit 568 onto AP9, then exit 3. Turn left onto NV1 towards Lugo/Madrid and left again on AC173 for Santa Cruz. Site signed from roundabout. Turn right before traffic lights. Site is on the left.
