Campsite L'Orée du Lac is situated in Villerest, Loire, located alongside a river and a lake. This terraced site has pitches which are marked out, some with shade and others without. It is possible to rent mobile homes. Extensive hikes in the nearby countryside. You can enjoy all kinds of water activities, leisure and fishing at the nearby Lake Villerest. In the town of the same name, you will find a museum, several equestrian centres and a 9-hole golf course. A very friendly, dedicated couple who run the site are very happy to give advice about the site and the area. Cyclists should note that the site offers various cycle tours. It is the ideal place for families, couples, sportsmen loving both the countryside to escape and the city with Roanne nearby for the practical side. The site has 54 grass touring pitches (with 10-amp hook-up point) of which 4 are for motorhomes. 2 seasonal pitches and 12 caravans or lodge tents available to hire.

It is also a site ideally located in the centre of the country for a rest-stop during a long journey that crosses the France from East to West or from North to South. It is very close to the N7 (8km), and only about twenty kms. and less than 20 minutes from the A89 from Lyon, Clermont-Ferrand or Saint-Etienne.

Location

From the N7 junction 68 Le Coteau take the D27 towards Le Coteau. At a roundabout take the 3^rdexit to join the join the D207 towards Parigny. Continue on this road to the junction with the D45 and turn right just after Logis Hotel le Dahu to join the D45. Remain on the D45 to its junction with D43 and turn right. Stay on D43 to the junction with the D18 and turn left. Now stay on the D18 following signs for Barrage-Villerest. Cross the Barrage and bear right onto the D84 and the site is soon on the right.
