This is a comfortable site in an area where the residents of Montpellier escape for their summer weekends. The site is dominated by its impressive high level reception area, restaurant, bar and swimming pool, with access by lift for people with disabilities. Behind this, the site stretches to the river which lies hidden behind a high bank and gated fence. The site is green and shady with 250 sandy grass pitches (Europlug, long leads required) with 100 for touring units mixed amongst mobile homes and chalets to let. The site seems surprisingly tranquil considering the dual-carriageway to Palavas runs past the front.

The large, traditional style pool with a small toboggan is a real attraction for everyone, although a shuttle bus is provided to the beach in July and August. A full animation programme runs for this period as well, so it is a useful site for families. For couples, the city of Montpellier is only 4 km. and the fishing port of Le Grau-du-Roi and the walled town of Aigues-Mortes are both within an easy distance past the Etang de Mauguio, famous for its pink flamingos.

Two modern sanitary blocks are kept clean and include hot showers, facilities for children and accessible facilities. Washing machine. Shop and bar (June-late Aug). Restaurant and takeaway (July/Aug). Heated swimming and paddling pools (1/4-1/10). Sauna. Gym. Play area. Bicycle hire. Kids club, Multisport pitch, Internet access. Barbecues on pitches not allowed (communal area provided).

Directions to Camping l’Oasis Palavasienne

From the A9 take exit 30 (Lattes, Palavas). Follow dual carriageway past exit for Lattes and take next (site signed), over bridge, right at roundabout to site immediately on the left.
