Lienzer Dolomiten is an unassuming little site, well placed on the B100, which runs from Lienz into Italy, through an extremely picturesque valley. There are 67 pitches for tourers, each with 6/16A electricity and well placed water points. Most pitches are level, the site being on a well drained, gentle slope. Roads are tarmac and gravel, watered twice a day to keep the dust down. Many pitches are separated by flower troughs, adding to the informal ambience. Being open in winter, the site is popular with young campers using the free bus to the nearby ski slopes.

The open-air pool is of the Eco variety, drawing its water from the streams and filtering through natural vegetation. No chemicals are used. A small playground will suit younger children, but older ones are encouraged to hike or cycle. A cycle route runs into Lienz and many riders return by train to the nearby station. Near the rail track, there is inevitably some daytime noise. There is a drinks vending machine but no other refreshments are available.

Drinks vending machine. Eco-swimming pool. Playground. Communal barbecue and covered dining area. Free WiFi over part of site.

Take B100 westbound, pass the village of Strassen. Turn left at Tessenbach, signed B111. Follow green signs.
