This delightful campsite is in contrast to those found in urban Dax. It is set beside a fishing lake, amongst trees and shrubs, with 103 shady pitches (90-110 sq.m). Fifty-one of the 66 touring pitches offer the rare facility of having their own individual bathrooms, complete with shower, toilet and basin as well as electricity (5/10A) and water tap. Two are specifically adapted for those with disabilities. Thirteen touring pitches share one communal sanitary block. This is a much favoured site for those wishing to take the thermal treatments in Dax and with courses lasting up to 21 days, treatments and transport can be pre-arranged.

Whilst close to the main Dax to Biarritz road, this is a quiet campsite with direct access to the woodland. Many cycle tracks and footpaths run nearby and offer opportunities to see the abundant wildlife - deer and boar are regularly seen on the perimeter of the site. The busy spa town of Dax is just 8 km. to the east where all of the usual shopping and banking facilities can be found. The large and bustling Basque coastal resorts of Biarritz and Capbreton provide stylish restaurants, bars and nightlife.

The private bathrooms are of the older traditional design, but they are clean and well maintained and provide all that is necessary including electrical points and mirrors. Accessible Facilities. Washing machine. Shop for basics only (1/6-30/9). Takeaway. Small swimming pool (1/6-15/9). Fishing lake. Small children’s play area. Limited organised activities. WiFi (charged). Barbecues only in the communal area by lake.

Directions to Camping l’Etang d’Ardy

From Dax head west on N124 toward Bayonne. After 8 km, at traffic island turn right (site signed) into Zone Commercial. Continue on the Allée des Etangs to site.
