Camping l’Escala has been on this site for over 50 years and was visited by Alan Rogers. It is a small town site, and all the amenities of the town are within easy reach. The beach is 400 m. away, a canopy of fir trees gives excellent shade, and the sanitary facilities are fabulous. There are 140 pitches (35-80 sq.m) of which 90 are for touring units. In high season there is a bar, snack bar and pizza oven. There is some road noise from the adjacent busy roads, despite the walls that surround the site.

It takes just five minutes to walk to either the very pleasant beach or to the centre of this modestly sized, lively, yet historic holiday resort, where you will find most of the usual seaside attractions. The site is great for those who wish for simple camping with stunning modern sanitary facilities at a reasonable price. Excellent baby facilities, dedicated children’s facilities and high quality accessible facilities really raise the game here. There is no swimming pool, playground or restaurant, but there are plenty of facilities in the town.

New central toilet block of the highest quality with underfloor heating for cooler seasons and sliding glass doors. Wonderful facilities for children featuring tiled pirate ships. Accessible facilities, Laundry sinks with hot water. Shop, bar, snack bar and pizza oven (all July/Aug). Satellite TV. WiFi over site (charged). No pets allowed. Modern bungalow apartments to rent.

Directions to Camping l’Escala

From A7/E15 take exit 5 towards L’Escala on GI623. Turn north 2 km. before reaching L’Escala towards Sant Marti d’Ampurias. Site well signed on north side of town and beach. Watch for site name on wall.
