Alan Rogers Review of Camping les Sous Bois du Lac
Started by the Feminier family in 1992, this spacious rural site of 14 hectares borders a small fishing river and is close to the large Lac de Naussac where sailing and watersports are available. There are 139 good sized, level, grassy/stony pitches separated by shrubs and mature trees. There are 79 for touring units, about half with shade, and most have 6/10A electricity (long leads may be needed). There is a varied entertainment programme for all ages and a good bar/restaurant. Rock pegs are advised.
This is a good base for touring, it is excellent walking and cycling country and the long distance Stevenson trail passes close by at Langogne; the east to west GR4 is also accessible. The 15 km. Vélo-rail track at Pradelles would make an unusual day out, pedalling a rail carriage through tunnels, over viaducts and through wonderful rolling countyside. It is possible to cycle around the lake via a series of small roads and tracks.

Two main toilet blocks, one heated, have a mixture of British and squat style WCs and preset showers. Accessible Facilities, baby changing. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Shop. Large restaurant and bar, takeaway (July/Aug). Swimming pool with paddling area. Playground. Entertainment for children and adults. River for fishing. Extensive grounds for walks. WiFi (charged). Chalets and mobile homes to rent.
Directions to Camping les Sous Bois du Lac
Leave N88 (Le Puy-Mende) just southwest of Langogne. Turn north on D26 towards Lac de Naussac (500 m) then turn left onto D34 towards Chastanier and follow signs to site on right (7.5 km).
