Les Paillotes is the closest campsite to Ruoms, one of the best known villages in the Ardèche. It is well located for accessing the gorges and the magnificent surrounding country. This is a small site with just 45 pitches (ranging from 70-90 sq.m). Every pitch has a 10A electrical connection and some have their own water supply. Most pitches are well shaded although sunnier locations are also available. Ruoms is just 400 m. distant and has a good selection of restaurants, shops and cafés. The River Ardèche is 700 m. away and canoeing excursions are readily available from here.

This is, of course, a great area for active holidays. Canoeing, mountain biking, potholing, rock climbing and canyoning are all available. There are also some superb medieval villages to explore, and the nearby Chauvet prehistoric cave is well worth a visit. The famous Pont d’Arc, a huge stone arch spanning the Ardèche, is 8 km. from the site, and is a popular canoe destination.

Directions to Camping les Paillotes

Ruoms is at the western end of the Ardèche gorges. Approaching from Montélimar, head west on D102 to Villeneuv de Berg. Shortly beyond the village head south on D103 and then D579 to Ruoms. The site is well signed.
