In the heart of the Ile de Ré and close to the UNESCO World Heritage site at Saint-Martin-de-Ré, les Maraises is a quiet, family site offering 60 level, shady pitches, all with electrical connections (10A). There is a choice of mobile homes (including two equipped with accessible facilities) and erected tents for hire. The snack bar sells fresh bread and basic supplies, and activities and entertainment are arranged for children and adults in high season. These include organised boat trips and visits to Fort-la-Prée, concerts, dancing and themed evenings. The beaches and attractions of the island are all within easy reach.

Saint Martin-de-Ré with its port and its shops, bars and restaurants is within walking (or cycling) distance. Nearly 100 kilometres of cycle tracks will take you to the ports of La Flotte and Ars-en-Ré and the nearby nature reserve, to Sainte Marie with its narrow streets or to the salt marshes of Loix. If you choose to venture off the island, the attractions of La Rochelle are just twenty kilometres away across the toll bridge.

Directions to Camping les Maraises

Site is on the Ile de Ré and is reached from La Rochelle via N237. Cross the toll bridge and follow D735. At fifth roundabout in 14 km. turn left and follow signs for site in 1.5 km. Note: do not follow sat nav.
