Alan Rogers Review of Camping les Chênes
Set in the east of the Gard department, about 25 km. from the large towns of Nîmes and Montpellier, Les Chênes is conveniently located with good views of the surrounding countryside. There are 90 pitches, 70 for touring and 50 with 3-10A electricity (long leads useful). Most are partially shaded with mature trees and some are sloping. Junas is convenient for visiting the cultural centres of Avignon, Orange and Nîmes. Even the beaches of the Mediterranean and the marshes of the Camargue are within a reasonable distance from here.
The site was acquired a few years ago by the present owners and totally renovated and is managed by a very friendly French couple and a welcoming team.
Facilities at Camping les Chênes
One modern sanitary block with British style WCs (no seats), solar-heated hot water to showers, facilities for babies and accessible facilities. Washing machines. Basic shop and snack bar with takeaway service (15/6-20/9). Renovated swimming pool with sunbathing area (15/5-31/9). Separate paddling pool (0-6 yrs).. Multisports court. Boules. Bouncy castle. Bicycle hire. Charcoal barbecues are not allowed.
Directions to Camping les Chênes
Leave autoroute A9, exit 26 (Gallargues). Head south on N313, shortly northeast D742, then shortly northwest D142 to Aubais. Then take D12 towards Junas. The site is signed in village.
