Les Biches is a popular site 4 km. from the sea. Set in a pinewood, nearly everywhere has shade. There are 434 pitches with 30 available for touring units. They are mostly hedged and on fairly sandy ground, all with electricity (10A). The majority for tents and caravans are in the far part of the site. A very attractive pool complex with children’s pool and flume is overlooked by the bar and terraces. Useful for families with young children. The site is used by tour operators and is unsuitable for American-style motorhomes.
There is entertainment for both adults and children in high season, plus swimming lessons for children and a kids’ club. At Commequiers, you can take a railbike ride along the bed of a disused railway line.
Facilities at Camping les Biches
Four rather tired sanitary blocks have cubicles for preset showers and washbasins. Some washbasins are in cabins with bidet. Accessible facilities. Laundry facilities. Shop, large bar (15/5-6/9). Restaurant (1/6-1/9). Takeaway (20/5-6/9). Indoor (heated) and outdoor swimming pools, children’s pool, slide, flume and jacuzzi. Tennis courts. Multisports pitch. Fitness room. Boules. Site is 2 km. northeast of St Hilaire. From D38 coast road, join D69 and at Le Pissot island turn south on D59. Follow signs to site on left.
