Close to the centre of La Baule and its beautiful bay, and just over three kilometres from the beach, this five-hectare site is popular with French holidaymakers. Of the 190 pitches, 110 are occupied by privately owned mobile homes, while another 40 have mobiles for rent. There are 40 touring pitches, situated just inside the entrance, so there is some traffic noise; they are of a good size and mostly well shaded, each bound by hedges and with electricity connection (10A). The ground is sloping, so levelling blocks are usually needed. The Fruchard family offer a warm welcome to visitors.

La Baule is one of France’s most prestigious seaside resorts, with a great sweep of sand and many excellent restaurants and shops, nightlife and a casino. In contrast, nearby Guérande has a medieval walled city and nearby salt marshes that produce the famous Sel de Guérande. It is worth seeking out the nearby resort of Saint Marc-sur-Mer, which featured in Tati’s classic, ‘M. Hulot’s Holiday’. On a peninsula to the west is Le Croisic, and the coast to the north has a wonderful selection of sandy beaches and little coves, the busy fishing port of La Turballe and the pretty village of Piriac-sur-Mer.

Facilities at Camping l’Eden

Traditional, basic sanitary block near the touring pitches was renovated in 2018. The external toilets include accessible facilities, and two rooms with controllable showers and washbasins in cubicles. Outdoor dishwashing and laundry sinks. Motorhome services (€ 2). Shop (1/5-29/9 - limited stock outside July/Aug). Takeaway/Homemade pizza (23/6-22/9). Bar with weeknight entertainment (July/Aug). Heated indoor pool (5/4-3/11). Heated swimming and paddling pools and giant flume (17/5-8/9). Playground. Fitness room. Boules. Fishing. Club for children and family activities (weekdays July/Aug). Bicycle hire. WiFi over site (charged).

From Nantes on N165 (Vannes) at junction 8 take N171 towards St Nazaire, then D213 towards Guérande. North of La Baule take exit signed La Baule centre/La Baule ouest onto D192 and at roundabout take last exit signed Escoublac onto Route de Ker Rivaud. Site is on your right.
