L’Ecrin Nature is a friendly site, attractively located close to Ambazac, with good access to the key sights of the Limousin. Some of the site’s 52 touring pitches are well shaded and of a good size, many with fine views across the plan d’eau de Jonas towards the Monts d’Ambazac. Most have 6A electricity connections. A number of mobile homes and fully equipped tents are available for rent. On-site leisure facilities include a heated swimming pool, volleyball and badminton. There are many footpaths close to the site, and the managers will be pleased to recommend routes. A day trip to Limoges is recommended, a beautiful city with a wealth of tourist attractions and a thriving porcelain industry.

Ambazac, a half hour walk away, has a range of shops and a popular farmers’ market. The site welcomes long-distance trekkers and mountain bikers who can rent tents or mobile homes. There are some 350 km. of walking and mountain biking routes locally, some beginning at the site. There is a guided walks programme between June and October, with a professional, English-speaking guide (booking is essential). The Limousin is a deservedly popular destination for all manner of sports, with canoeing, mountain biking and riding possible. In contract, the area is dotted with ancient villages, castles and other historic sites to explore.

Directions to Camping l’Ecrin Nature

The site is located to the north of Limoges. Approaching from the north, leave A20 autoroute at exit 26 (from the south exit 27) and follow signs to Ambazac, then Plan d’Eau de Jonas and site. The site is well signed. Use intercom to gain entry.
