Val d’Ussel is in the Périgord-Noir region of France, only 7 km. from the picturesque old town of Sarlat. It is attractively laid out in a wooded parkland setting covering seven hectares, giving ample space for everyone. There is a wide range of activities for all the family in the surrounding area and, in the high season, there is plenty to do on the campsite. There are 175 partly sloping, medium sized grass pitches with 64 for touring; the others are used for mobiles homes and seasonal use. There is an attractive swimming pool complex ideal for the children and for unwinding after a day sightseeing.

The historic market town of Sarlat has an older quarter containing many interesting old houses spanning several centuries. To the south, the River Dordogne meanders through many picture postcard villages well worth visiting. To the west lies the valley of the river Vézère with many caves renowned for their ancient paintings. Numerous watersports can be found on both of these rivers.

Leave Sarlat, D704 north towards Montignac. Shortly turn right, signed Proissans and follow signs to site (12 km. north of Sarlat).
