This well kept little campsite, between Le Bugue and Les Eyzies, is an ideal base to explore the châteaux and prehistoric sites of the Périgord region. Around 100 pitches (62 for touring, all with 15A electricity) are flat, grassy and all of a good size.

The pitches are divided by shrubs and some have shade from mature trees, whilst others are more open. Reception stocks a range of basic groceries including bread and croissants made freshly on site every morning. The site retains a relaxed peaceful air and is an ideal retreat after a busy day of sightseeing in the area.

Food and wine tastings take place in the high season where local producers bring their products for tasting and to sell. The proximity of the main road to the site should not cause a problem as it is not a major route.

Weekly entertainment, excursions and competitions are organised in high season are very popular with all age groups. WiFi, for which there is a charge in the high season, is available around the bar and terrace.

Clean toilet block provides first-rate facilities. Baby bath. Smaller block near reception houses good accessible facilities. Washing and drying machines. Shop, good bar, takeaway (July/Aug). Swimming pool (heated seasonal), sun terrace, paddling pool. WiFi (charged high season). Small fishing lake. Bicycle and go-kart hire. Communal barbecue.

Directions to Camping le Val de la Marquise

Site is 5 km. southeast of Le Bugue. Take D703/D706 Le Bugue-Les Eyzies road. At Campagne take D35 southeast towards St Cyprien (there is a peculiar ‘Y’ junction with 3 roads). Site is 500 m. on right.
