Camping Le Sous Bois is in Charente-Maritime, a region known for its oyster and mussel farming, fishing and viticulture. The site is located to the west of the island of Oléron, a stone's throw from the Atlantic Ocean, just outside the town of La Cotinière. The site has 182 grassy pitches, of which 137 are for touring units and have 6/10-amp hook-up points. There are also 45 mobile homes or lodge tents available to hire. The pitches are clean and differ in size, and most are semi-shaded. The shade comes from the many acacias, oaks, mulberries, catalpas and pines.

Children will have a great time at the playground with wooden equipment, a slide, swings and climbing nets. You can play volleyball, basketball, football, Boules and table tennis here. In front of the reception is a large tent where all kinds of activities, including themed dinners, are organised, and there is plenty of entertainment in high season, too. The campsite also has an outdoor jacuzzi and a small sauna. You can also enjoy a massage. In July and August, a bus runs between the site and the various beaches several times a day.

Directions to Camping le Sous Bois

Take exit 35 from the A10 at Saintes and then west on the D78 to Marennes. Cross the (toll-free) bridge and join the D26 and then D734 towards Dolus d’Oléron and Saint- Pierre d’Oléron. At St. Pierre d’Oléron turn left onto the D274 towards La Cotinière. Next turn right towards L'Ileau and join Avenue des Pins. The site is signposted and is on the right off this road.
