Alan Rogers Review of Camping le Pradal
A friendly welcome awaits at this family run site which is situated beside the Gardon river, just a ten minute walk from the historic town of Anduze, the gateway to the Cevennes and beautiful unspoilt countryside. The site has direct access to an attractive, private, pebble beach. There are 133 grass and sand pitches set amongst mature trees, most with good shade. Of these, 100 are for touring units, all with 10A electricity connections, 20 also with water and drainage. Most pitches are level with some terracing to allow views of the river and surrounding mountainside. A very attractive swimming pool and paddling pool complex greets you at the entrance to the site and adjacent there is kayak and canoe hire. Some English is spoken.
From Anduze you can catch the Train a Vapeur des Cevennes and enjoy a scenic steam train ride on the mountain railway to St Jean-du-Gard which is near where Robert Louis Stevenson started his famed eight day walk to Le Puy with his donkey Modestine. The train also stops at La Bambouseraie, a bamboo forest and garden of exotic plants. For the energetic, walking, cycling and climbing are all options. Anduze has a long season and is quite lively in spring and autumn. It is also famous for its pottery. Colourful weekly markets are held regularly in Anduze and the surrounding towns and villages. Sweet-toothed visitors will enjoy a visit to the Cevenole Nougeterie in Anduze.

Directions to Camping le Pradal
From the N106 Nîmes-Ales road, turn west on D982 to Anduze. In Anduze cross the river and turn north on D129 to Generargues. Site is 900 m. along this road to the west.
