Port Buisson is a member of the A Tout Vert group, a small group of campsites in lesser known, rural locations. In this case, the site benefits from an attractive setting on the Loire, south west of Saint Etienne. There are 155 pitches and a small number of chalets and mobile homes available to rent. On-site amenities include a bar and restaurant. Given its riverside location, the site is also popular with anglers. Leisure amenities include volleyball and a small bar with takeaway. Various games and competitions are organised in peak season. Close to the campsite is a beach on the banks of the river with pedalo hire, pony riding and minigolf. Also within this complex is a swimming pool.

There is also a bar and snack area. The site is located close to the superb Gorges de la Loire. Although less well known that some other gorges in France, those of the Loire well merit a visit. The landscape is green and remote, and is dotted with ruined medieval castles. There are many fine vantage points along the course of the gorges. The site is located at Aurec-sur-Loire, an important tourist town with annual music and folklore festivals.

Directions to Camping Des Gorges de la Loire

From St Etienne, follow the southbound N88 to Firminy and then the westbound D3, D108 and south on D46 far as Aurec-sur-Loire. Cross the bridge and continue for 1.5 km. The site is on the left and well signed from the town.
