Le Pavillon Royal has an excellent situation on raised ground overlooking the sea (100 m. from the beach), with good views along the coast to the south and to the north coast of Spain beyond. There is a large heated swimming pool and sunbathing area in the centre of the site. The camping area is divided up into 325 marked, level pitches, many of a good size. Seventy-five are reserved for tents and are only accessible on foot. The remainder are connected by asphalt roads. All have electricity. Much of the campsite is in full sun, although the area for tents is shaded.

Beneath the site – and only a very short walk down – stretches a wide sandy beach where the Atlantic rollers provide ideal conditions for surfing. A central, marked out section of the beach is supervised by lifeguards (from mid June). There is also a section with rocks and pools. Reservation in high season is advisable.

Facilities

Good quality toilet blocks with baby baths and two accessible units. Washing facilities (only two open at night). Washing machines, dryers. Motorhome services. Shop (including gas), restaurant and takeaway, bar, heated swimming and paddling pools, wellness facilities, fitness room (all open all season). Playground. General room, TV room, games room, films. Fishing. Surf school. Dogs are not accepted. WiFi throughout (charged).

Location

From A63 exit 4, take the N10 south towards Bidart. At roundabout after the Intermarché supermarket turn right (signed for Biarritz). After 600 m. turn left at site sign.
