Le Palace is close to the beach in Soulac-sur-Mer, south of Royan across the estuary. It is an impressive, traditional site, large and level, with 580 good sized individual pitches regularly laid out amongst a variety of trees that provide good shade. On the very sandy ground, pitches for caravans have hardened areas. Electricity (10A) is available. Most pitches have water taps and some also have sewerage connections. A wide range of amenities are arranged around a large play area and crazy golf course. The pool complex could be described as a small water park with several pools, slides, a jacuzzi and a children’s pool with galleon in the centre.

A wide, sandy beach is 400 m. from the site gates and swimming, said not to be dangerous in normal conditions, is controlled by lifeguards. Here you will also find a surf school and a skate park. La Verdon is nearby and it is possible to take a ferry from here to Royan. The city of Bordeaux is within easy reach for a day out, as is the Bay of Arcachon.

Six separate toilet blocks include washbasins in private cabins. Baby bathrooms (0-24 months) in all blocks, Accessible Facilities. Laundry facilities. Supermarket (Apr-Sept). Restaurant and bar. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools (from mid May) and paddling pool with fountains. Sauna and Hammam. Gym. Playground. Large games room. Snooker. Bicycle hire. Programme of sports, entertainment and excursions in July/Aug. Miniclub (4-12 yrs). Minigolf. Winter caravan storage. WiFi throughout.

Directions to Camping le Palace

From Bordeaux head north on D1215 to Soulac-sur-Mer. Site is 1 km. south of Soulac and well signed. The shortest and simplest way is via the ferry which runs from Royan across the Gironde estuary to the Pointe de Grave, but this is quite expensive with a caravan.
