Alan Rogers Review
A small quiet, basic and very rural, family run site close to the tiny village of Vesc nestling in the beautiful Drôme countryside. There are only 35 pitches with 21 for touring. They are of average size, stony and laid out in clearings under pine trees offering good shade. There is a small bar/snack bar and takeaway, open July and August, close to the small swimming pool, open June, July and August, and the children’s play area. Low trees make access difficult to some of the pitches. There is very little in the way of organised activities. Only electric barbecues allowed on site.
This area is an ideal area for those wishing to get away from the stresses of normal life with wonderful opportunities to explore the area on foot, by bike or by car. Go north into the Vecors national park lying in the foothills of the Alpes or south into the Drôme Provençale where you will find orchards full of fruit and nut trees, vineyards, fields of lavender and olive groves. Local produce includes the famous Picadon goat’s cheese and the Clairette de Die, a sparkling white wine mentioned by the Romans in 40AD.
Basic toilet block with all necessary facilities including those for babies and campers with disabilities. Small kiosk snack bar (July/Aug) next to small swimming pool (Jun-Aug) and children’s play area. Pizzas served two evenings a week. WiFi (July/Aug only, charged).
LocationFrom Montélimar take D540 east for 27 km. to Dieulefit. Take D538 then D130 southeast for 6 km. At la Paillette turn northeast, D330 for 5 km. to site at Vesc. Link to campsite location map on google
