Camping Le Lac des Charmilles is nestled at the banks of the Lac de Torigny-Les-Villes with views of the Château de Matignon. The French couple who run the site were very helpful. This site the ideal one-night stop-off at the end of a holiday to take the dogs to the vets before getting the ferry from Cherbourg, Caen or Le Havre. There is easy access from the A84 motorway, and there are good dog walking areas directly from the site. The site is also a short walk to the village where you will find a supermarket.

The 63 touring pitches have a 10-amp hook-up point. The newer part of the site has open grass pitches divided by recently planted hedges and a motorhome area. Security is good, with an entry/exit barrier operated by a tag provided on check-in and the gate to the path around the lakes is keypad operated; they are not suitable for swimming, but it is nice to walk around and do some fishing. You will also find a covered outdoor swimming pool on-site and various sports activities available, including a multisport court and table tennis. During the summer months, The campsite organises events suitable for everyone including evening entertainment and activities for children.
