Amping Le Hameau des Champs is located in Cormatin, France, a village known for its magnificent 17th-century castle, Château de Cormatin. It is situated between Cluny and Tournus, a few kilometres from the Taizé community and on the Burgundy wine route. The campsite is also along the Voie Verte, a greenway path perfect for walking and cycling. Bicycles can be hired directly from the campsite. The site has 50 touring pitches, of which have electric hook-up points available (13Amp). The pitches are spacious and demarcated with low bushes, and mature trees provide plenty of shade.
A brand-new heated outdoor swimming pool with a toddler pool has been built, which is perfect for all ages to enjoy, and there are plenty of sun loungers to relax on. Café La Belle Epoque, the campsite restaurant and bar, is located next to the swimming pool. Here, you can enjoy various cold drinks, breakfast, light lunches and simple but tasty evening meals. On Friday evenings, during high season, live music is played here too. There are plenty of activities to enjoy whilst staying here as well, and there is a multisport pitch for friendly ball games with fellow campers. There's table tennis and a games room too with a pool table and table football. For those seeking a bit of relaxation, you can always try your hand at a spot of fishing on the river Grosne, which runs next to the site.
Explore Château de Cormatin. This 17th-century castle is just steps away from the campsite. It boasts rich interiors, including the Hall of Mirrors and the apartment of the Marquise of Huxelles. A guided tour will allow you to appreciate the architectural details and learn about the castle's history.
