Camping le Garanel is located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. Come and enjoy all the assets of the beautiful city of Sommières with a medieval past, classified as a small city of character. Access is possible on foot to the city centre and its shops, restaurants, cinema and walk along the banks of the River Vidourle in the shade of hundred-year-old plane trees. Every Saturday, flea market on the esplanade and market in the heart of the city. The site is an ideal starting point to visit the major tourist sites of the region. The Pic St Loup, The Pont du Gard, the fortified city of Aigues-Mortes, the Duchy of Uzès. Located between Nîmes and Montpellier, on the road to Grau du Roi, at the gates of the Camargue leading to the beautiful beach of Espiguette. At the crossroads of Saintes-Maries de la Mer, Anduze, Bamboo, Cirque de Navacelles, St Guilhem le Désert. The site has 60 touring pitches with 8amp hook-up point and 12 units to hire including 8 Safari tents.

The site is now privately owned and has a small swimming pool which is big enough to cool off. The beach at La Grande Motte can be reached in half an hour. Pitches here are spacious and have plenty of shade. Within walking distance, you will find a beautiful old village with a lot of history, bakeries, restaurants, shops and a large flea market on Saturdays plus a weekly normal market. The site does not have a children’s playground. Extensive playground is to be found in the adjacent park. It is a very good site for both long and short stays.

Directions to Camping le Garanel

From the A9/E15 at junction 25 Nîmes-Ouest join the N106 to the next roundabout. Take the 3^rdexit to join the N113 for a short distance to the next roundabout and take the second exit to join the D40. Now follow the D40 to Sommières. In the centre of Sommières follow the signs 'Arènes' and 'Camping'.
