La Grande Brière is a vast area of marshland to the north of the Loire estuary. This is an area rich in flora and fauna, arguably best explored using the traditional punts (chalands). Domaine De Pont Mahé is a seaside site to the north of the Brière. The new owners work very hard improving the site and its amenities. There are 34 touring pitches offering electricity, water and waste, and the remainder of pitches are occupied by mobile homes (20 to rent). The pitches are generally well shaded and of a good size. The site’s covered swimming pool is a focal point and is attractively surrounded by a terrace with straw parasols. There are a number of cycle tracks close to the site.

An entertainment and activity programme takes place during the high season and includes a children’s club and regular evening entertainment. The nearest sandy beach is just 250 m. away and various watersports are possible there. Further afield, the mediaeval town of Guérande is delightful and La Baule boasts Europe’s longest beach.

Covered swimming pool (11/4-30/9). Children’s pool. Play area. Games room. Activity and entertainment programme. Mobile homes and equipped tents to rent. WiFi throughout (free).

Directions to Camping Le Domaine De Pont Mahé

Leave the N165 at Arzal exit and head south on the D139 (which becomes the D83) as far as Assérac. Head west here on D82 to Pont Mahé and site is well signed.
