Alan Rogers Review of Camping le Couriou
Le Couriou is a family run site in the beautiful Drôme countryside just south of Die. There are 131 stony/grassy, level pitches of varying sizes with 101 for touring (10A electricity). They are laid out on high terraces with superb views over the surrounding wooded hills; not ideal for those with walking difficulties. The pitches are separated by some shrubs and a variety of trees giving some shade. Though the site roads can be quite steep, access is not difficult for large outfits. It has a large pool complex, terraced bar and restaurant (all open to the public) with views across to the Vercors mountains.
Die is an ancient village famous for its Clairette-de-Die, a sparkling white wine mentioned by the Romans in 40AD. Close by are the Vercors mountains and the Vercors National Park, an area of great beauty famous for the French Resistance. There are plenty of opportunities to explore this untamed region, by foot, by bicycle or in the car. It is also an area where you can completely unwind on site or in the swimming pool complex.
Facilities at Camping le Couriou
Three adequate toilet blocks with accessible facilities. Washing machines/dryer. Shop, bar, restaurant/takeaway (1/7-30/8, or sooner depending on demand). Four heated swimming pools, toboggans, paddling pool. Multisport area. Boules. No charcoal barbecues allowed on site. Communal barbecues available. WiFi on part of site (charged).

From Die take D93 south for 14 km. Just before Recoubeau turn right, site signed.
