In the attractive countryside of Schleswig-Holstein, near the border with Lower Saxony and just 50 km. south-east of Hamburg, this pleasant rural campsite stands on the bank of the Elbe-Lübeck Canal and the shore of the lake that gives it its name.

Much of the site is devoted to holiday units, but there are 25 touring pitches on hardstanding (all with 16A Europlug, water and drainage) plus 25 tent pitches. Many occupy prime locations overlooking the canal or the lake. Anglers will be in their element here as they can sit outside their van or tent and fish, while walkers and cyclists can head off on the Alte Salzstrasse cycle path.

Nearby Lauenburg is a picturesque old town on the banks of the Elbe, with colourful half-timbered houses and the old Castle.

A little further afield is the town of Mölln, which is surrounded by lakes and is famous for its Eulenspiegel fountain. Hamburg is also an easy drive away and has something to suit all tastes.

Directions to Camping Lanzer See

Basedow is 45 km. east of Hamburg and the site is southeast of the village. From A24 (Hamburg/Berlin) at exit 6 (Schwarzenbek/Grande) take B404 southeast to Schwarzenbek and continue southeast on B209 towards Lauenburg for 9.5 km. Turn east on K70 to Basedow and continue to campsite at southern end of lake.
