Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Vacance Pène Blanche
La Pène Blanche is spacious and well kept, in an idyllic location close to Lake Loudenvielle and surrounded by high mountains. The approach is on good roads through spectacular scenery. There are 120 small pitches which are not separated; 80 are for touring (40 have 5/10A electricity, long leads required). The area is ideal for walking, hiking and biking in the mountains. An outdoor swimming pool is just 200 m. away and nearby is the Balnéa Centre with its spa waters. The resorts of Val Louron and Peyragudes are within easy reach for skiing. For the very brave there is paragliding and hang-gliding or you can relax in the park to watch them gracefully coming in to land.
Fishing in the lake is possible from March to September. Within easy reach at Arreau (6 km) is Les Aigles d’Aure (eagle displays). Other possible trips could include the Château de Mauvezin, Parcours Moudang Adventure, an outdoor pursuit course with zip wires through gorges (20 km), and Bagnères-de-Bigorres via the spectacular Col d’Aspin.

Two toilet blocks, one traditional, one modern and heated include accessible facilities. Indoor dishwashing and laundry room with washing machine, dryer and ironing board. Outdoor swimming pool, Restaurant, Bar, Snack bar, Play area. WiFi (part site, free).
