Camping La Porte d'Autan is a small site on the outskirts of Saissac, in the beautiful Languedoc-Roussillon region, from which you look out over the hills and the snowy peaks of the Pyrenees. The famous castle of Saissac is within walking distance (one kilometre). The site has 75 grass pitches of which 61 are for touring units and have a 6-amp hook-up point. There are also 14 mobile homes or safari tents available to rent. The size of the pitches varies from medium-large to extremely spacious. You can choose from a spot in the sun or the shade. 

Take a refreshing dip in the inviting pool located directly behind the reception, which is the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the area. Enjoy a casual meal or drink at the campsite's cosy bar and snack bar, offering a delightful selection. While there's no on-site shop, a convenient grocery store is located 150 meters away. La Porte d'Autan keeps young campers entertained throughout their stay. During peak season, the campsite organizes various workshops, while a playground, games area, and library provide endless fun any time of year. Two adorable miniature horses add to the campsite's charm. 

Explore the medieval city of Carcassonne. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must-see for any visitor to the area. The city is surrounded by a double wall with 52 towers, and there is a castle (château) inside the walls. You can walk around the ramparts, explore the castle, and wander through the narrow streets of the old town.

Directions to Camping La Porte d'Autan

From the Ring Road at Carcassonne leave in the direction of Castelnaudary D6113, right to Sassiac D629. Through village, left after 500 metres at roundabout. The site is signposted.
