Located in an area known for its thermal waters since Roman and Moorish times, and with just 117 pitches and 40 bungalows, la Fuente is a gem. Unusually, winter is high season here. The main attraction is the huge hydrotherapy centre where the water is a constant 36 degrees all year. The pool can be covered in inclement weather. The site is in two sections, one where pitches are in standard rows and the other where they are in circles around blocks. The hard, flat pitches are on shingle (rock pegs advised), have 10A electricity (Europlug) and 52 have their own mini sanitary unit. Some artificial shade has been added to 22 pitches.

There is accommodation to rent on site but it is separate from the camping area. The site’s buildings are a cheery yellow colour and the pool has a large terraced area and pool bar. Fed from thermal springs this is really good for old bones! Importantly there is a long gentle ramp into the pool, for the not so agile or where a bath chair could be lowered into the water. A daily charge applies for use of the pool and jacuzzis (but well worth it). There is also a very good restaurant with terrace and separate bar.

Some pitches have their own private facilities, including accessible facilities. Washing machines and dryers. Groceries can be ordered from reception. High quality restaurant shared with accommodation guests. Hydrotherapy centre. Snack bar by pool. Jacuzzi. Communal barbecues only. WiFi over site (charged).

Directions to Camping la Fuente

From A7/E15 Alicante-Murcia road take C3223 to Fortuna then follow signs to Baños de Fortuna. The site with its bright yellow walls can be easily seen from the road and is very well signed in the town.
