Camping la Châtaigneraie is situated in rural countryside in the heart of the Périgord Noir and close to Sarlat, one of the most popular destinations in the Dordogne region. There are 193 averaged sized, slightly sloping, grassy pitches with 122 for touring, all with electricity (10A). They are laid out on low terraces on the side of a hill, separated by hedges, with mature trees giving good shade. In July and August the site comes alive with a full programme of entertainment including a children’s club. There is a spacious aquapark and a wide range of sports facilities for all the family.

This site is being refurbished to a high standard including an improved swimming pool complex, bar, restaurant and good quality toilet block. The Dordogne has a great deal to offer the holiday maker. There are many ancient towns and villages, some perched high up on hills dominated by their impressive châteaux. Other popular activities include canoeing on the River Dordogne and exploring the famous painted caves. This site is ideal for the active family, but not recommended for those with walking difficulties.

Three modern toilet blocks, two completely refurbished to a high standard. Facilities for babies and accessible facilities. Shop and bar (mid June-end Aug). Restaurant/takeaway (July-mid Sept). Pool complex and spa (all season). Volleyball. Boules. Tennis. Giant chess. Minigolf. Free WiFi over part of site.

Directions to Camping la Châtaigneraie

Leave A20 at exit 55. Head west through Souillac to Roufillac. Take D61 north then D47B towards Ste Nathalène. A short distance before village turn left to site (signed).
