Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Cascade
A delightful small site run by a friendly family, la Cascade is located in the Lozère, where there is some truly spectacular, rugged scenery, beautiful flora and fauna and old towns and villages. This site has 54 good sized, grassy pitches, separated by trees giving varying amounts of shade. There are 39 for touring, all with 10A electricity. The small river just outside the campsite is lovely, with a low waterfall, shallow water running over stones and deeper pools. The access road is narrow at the entrance but is passable with care by most units.
This is an ideal site for unwinding and exploring this beautiful region on foot, on a bike or by car. There is a ‘wilder’ camping area with ecological dry toilets. The site is calm and tranquil, especially in low season. Some recently introduced bearded vultures can be seen from the site as they fly over the mountainside. Occasional entertainment is provided; when we were there, the park rangers presented an evening show on the vultures, with brioche, coffee and plenty of fun.
Facilities at Camping la Cascade
Two small heated toilet blocks with good accessible facilities, including a baby bath. Washing machine. Bread to order, cold drinks and local specialities. Takeaway (July/Aug). Family room. Play area. Trout fishing. Communal barbecue. Bicycle hire. Guided walks. Fitness equipment. Boules. Free WiFi.

Directions to Camping la Cascade
From Clermont Ferrand on the A75 take exit 44-1, Aguessac-le Rozier, towards Meyrueis. Pass through Meyrueis on to the D996 (signed Florac). In 3 km. turn right down ramp onto narrow road to site.
