La Borio de Roque is a peaceful site in a very rural location hidden in a wooded valley 4 km. from Saint Pons. It lies at the end of a 1.5 km. rough track but it is well worth the effort and it is set around a lovely renovated farmhouse with the outbuildings made into four very attractive gites. Its focal point, the bar, is rather special and housed in a restored barn. The 25 large, individually shaped, terraced pitches have 10A electricity and some shade. Some are private to which the owners will escort you. When the site was developed, many different varieties of trees were planted which has created a very attractive environment with abundant wild flowers.

Children are encouraged to help with feeding the chickens and grooming the ponies and horses. There are numerous walks and tracks for mountain bikes from the site and your Dutch hosts will be only too happy to advise on routes. Saint Pons (4 km) is an attractive small town with bars, restaurants and a museum. La Borio is especially suited to couples and young families – not a site for teenagers who like lots of entertainment.

Two fully equipped toilet blocks, baby bath. Use of large freezer. Bread all season. Bar/reception. Local wine, coffee and tea. Standard dish of the day only (15/5-15/9). Swimming pool (from 1/6). Small fishing lake. Grassy play area. Barbecue areas. Canoeing, kayaking, climbing and walking organised (July/Aug). WiFi in bar. Not suitable for American motorhomes or units over 6 m.

Directions to Camping la Borio de Roque

St Pons-de-Thomières is on the N112 northwest of Béziers. Site is 4.5 km. north of the town on the D907 signed Salvetat, on the right on a bend, then 1.5 km. on a rough track (signed).
