This is a large municipal site in a fantastic location with wonderful views on the shores of Lake Bourget, the largest natural lake in France. The surrounding mountains create a scenic backdrop. The 235 pitches are level and a few have dividing hedges. Mature trees give some shade, but the site is mostly open. Many pitches border the lake or rivers which run along two sides of the site. Caution must be taken as there are some unfenced stretches. All pitches have easy access to electricity (6/10A) and there are adequate water points around the site. The lake offers many watersports.

Canoes are available on the beach. This campsite is the only one on the lake to have a private beach (with lifeguards – afternoons only in July and August) and private port. The small town of Le Bourget-du-Lac is close by and has some important cultural heritage. The 11th century Priory and 13th-century castle are worth visiting and guided tours are available, bookable at reception. This site would suit families as there is so much to do in the area, and the site offers great value.

Well stocked shop. Bar, restaurant with terrace, takeaway and pizzas (all 1/5-25/9). Play area. TV room. WiFi. Fishing, swimming, canoes. Bicycle hire.

Directions to Camping International l’ile aux Cygnes

From motorway exit of A43 Lyon-Chambéry with A41 Annecy-Grenoble (exit 14 at Chambéry), head north on D1201/D1504 (previously N504) for 8 km. to Lac-du-Bourget. Then follow signs for Plage Municipal and yacht club. Site is 300 m. after the yacht club.
