In pleasant countryside south of Paris and within easy reach of the Palais de Fontainebleau, this is a traditional, no-frills campsite occupying an attractive location on the bank of the River Essonne. There are 110 pitches on level grassland with groups of trees providing some shade; electricity connections (6A) are available. Nature lovers will be in their element, with woodland paths and waterways surrounding the site, and the forest of Fontainebleau with its major climbing sites and the Parc Naturel Régional du Gatinais Français both a short drive (or an energetic ride) away. A few mobile homes and chalets can be hired, and new ones are planned.

The village of Boulancourt is just round the corner and has a small shop and a bar/restaurant where fresh bread is delivered. Nearby Malesherbes offers a wider choice of shops and restaurants whilst the historic town of Nemours also boasts a feudal castle whose central keep has four round towers and a 16th century church with a handsome wooden spire. To the north, Milly-la-Forêt is at the heart of the Gatinais Français, whilst to the east are the extensive forests surrounding the historic palace of Fontainebleau. If you would like a day out in Paris but don’t fancy driving, it is possible to take a train from Malesherbes.

Directions to Camping Ile de Boulancourt

Boulancourt is 75 km. due south of Paris (88 km. by road). From A6 Paris/Lyon motorway, leave at exit 14 (Malesherbes) and head southwest on D152 to Malesherbes. In 15 km. turn south on D948 (Orléans), bear left on D948/D410 (site signed) and continue south on D410 (Puiseaux). Turn right then left on D103A2 to Boulancourt and to site on right after village.
