Camping Il Frantoio can be found on the Ligurian Riviera, at San Bartolomeo al Mare, between the larger towns of Alassio and Sanremo. The site has an extensively terraced hillside setting and is surrounded by olive trees. It is around 1.5 km. from the sea, easily accessible with the site’s free shuttle bus (mid June to mid September). Unfortunately, an elevated autoroute section dominates the sea views. Pitches here are predominantly occupied by accommodation units for hire, leaving just 20 fairly tight touring pitches on the lower level and a further 100 tent pitches on the upper level. Electricity is not available for the tent pitches. Additionally, a number of cabins and bungalows are privately owned.

On-site amenities here include a swimming pool (bathing caps required) and a new children’s play area. There is also a pleasant restaurant with a terrace overlooking the swimming pool and surrounding hills. Formerly, the site was a Ligurian olive oil mill and the production of olive oil is still important in the area. San Bartolomeo is delightful, with a pretty church, Santa Anna, and many other picturesque towns and villages within easy reach.

Sanitary blocks have a mixture of British and squat toilets, showers on payment (hot water available 08.00-00.00). Accessible facilities. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Outdoor swimming pool (1/6-15/9, limited hours, hats compulsory). Shuttle bus to beach. Play area. Bar with TV. Restaurant/pizzeria (June-Sept). Entertainment and activity programme (July/Aug). Children’s club. Mobile homes to rent. WiFi.

Approaching from France (Menton) on A10 motorway, leave at the exit to San Bartolomeo al Mare and head for the town centre, from where the site is well signposted.
